Questionnaire

Emerald Nova: What names are you known by in the Sega Xtreme and Sega Homebrew community?

Runik: Runik.

Emerald Nova: When did you come into the Sega Xtreme and Sega Homebrew community?

Runik: After buying a second hand Saturn in the late 90s, I was looking for games on internet... I came across one of the first iterations of Sega Xtreme by that time. I got a few that way and put some of mine online, too. You had to use FTPs, and slice the archives in smaller chunks as the internet speed wasn't what we're used to now ;).

Emerald Nova: How did you find the community?

Runik: On the internet.

Emerald Nova: What projects you have contributed to in some form? Who did you work with on these projects?

Runik: I am the creator of Saturnin, a Saturn emulator. I work alone on it, but Fabien Autrel (the creator of Satourne, another Saturn emulator) gave me a hand in the beginning... We lived in the same city at the time, so that helped a lot :D.

Emerald Nova: Is there anyone you think is in danger of being forgotten or lost to time that made contributions to the community?

Runik: In no particular order : |Barracuda|, Vreuzon, Reinhart, Slinga, Rockin-B, racketboy, mal, ExCyber/CyberWarriorX, M3d10n, SeGaFrEaK_NL, Flakvin, RevQuixo, slacker52... (I'm not putting the usual suspects like antime and vbt as they won't be forgotten anytime soon :).) I have surely forgotten some, I can't put my hands on my email logs from before 2004, that's a shame :/.

Emerald Nova: Is there anything else you could think of that should make it into the Saturn Homebrew history pages?

Runik: Nope... I'm not much in the homebrew side actually as you would have guessed, but I love testing them in my emulator :).

Emerald Nova: Do you have any previous history in game development or the game industry?

Runik: Not at all.

Emerald Nova: Thank you for your time!
