Questionnaire

Emerald Nova: What names are you known by in the Sega Xtreme and Sega Homebrew community?

hitomi2500: hitomi2500, Jameson(only on SX.)

Emerald Nova: When did you come into the Sega Xtreme and Sega Homebrew community?

hitomi2500: I registered at SX in 2003, but was never an active member. I started making Saturn-related hardware and software around that time as well, but rarely shared anything with the community.

Emerald Nova: How did you find the community?

hitomi2500: Hey, it was web 1.0, there wasn't anything else. :) Just joking, but back then SX was probably within top results in the search engines on a "Sega Saturn" query.

Emerald Nova: What projects you have contributed to in some form? Who did you work with on these projects?

hitomi2500: Ironically, my only quasi-finished project is a software called ss-save-parser, its roots go back to 2003 as well. I did it myself, but many people helped me in many ways. I probably won't remember the most active contributors, but if i have to name at least someone, it will be Druid II, slinga, and cafe-alpha.

I have some in-progress/unfinished/abandoned/suspended projects, both hardware and software, but all of them are nothing special yet. Maybe except wasca, but I'd rather talk about that one when it's done.

Emerald Nova: Is there anyone you think is in danger of being forgotten or lost to time that made contributions to the community?

hitomi2500: I don't know. How about Pinchy, the guy who made the first homebrew modchip? Not sure if he is forgotten, I kinda remember his posts. Or tpunix, the one who (almost) made SAROO ODE? He is somewhat active on github.

Emerald Nova: Is there anything else you could think of that should make it into the Saturn Homebrew history pages?

hitomi2500: Nothing comes to mind, sorry.

Emerald Nova: Do you have any previous history in game development or the game industry?

hitomi2500: Not at all.

Emerald Nova: Thank you for your time!
